SERAPHIM DISPLAY IDEASTo purchase Seraphim Classics Angels, please visit my store: http://www.sharisangels.com This is a page with contributions from fellow collectors on how to display your Seraphim Angels- whether in a curio or through-out your house! Contributed by Chris: I have a curio for my angels and I think the angels look beautiful in a curio with the lights and mirrors. But, there are also other ways of displaying them that look really nice. I had this great idea....haven't done it yet but plan to one of these days real soon! Anyway, the idea is to put Harmony on my dresser beside one of my 5x7 wedding pictures. Another nice variation on that theme would be to find a wedding picture of your grandparents, put it in an antique frame and display Harmony beside it. Another idea is to display any of the guardians beside my boys' baby shoes that I had done in brass. Hope you can use these ideas! Contributed by Kris: I have 2 curios. One is oval shaped on the sides, a door in the middle, and has 4 glass shelves. On each shelf going down the middle is a 12" Angel. On either side of all of the large Angels is at least 2 regular Angels. Some of those I have on the pedestals, especially those like Felicia and Iris. I also have some of the musicals stashed in there. This curio is in one corner of my living room. Along side of this is my fireplace & mantel. On the mantel is a couple of ornaments hanging from ornament holders, and some 4" Angels. Then on the other side of the fireplace in the corner is my bigger curio. This curio has 4 doors. Two on the top section, 2 on the bottom. There are 4 shelves which stretch clear from one end of the cabinet to the other. On these shelves I have only one 12" on the top shelf in the corner. I have a row of regular-sized Angels on pedestals along the back. Then a mixture of Angels and glitterdomes in front of those. On another shelf I have on one half of the shelves, the Nativity set. I have Gloria on a pedestal overlooking the 3 kings, who are overlooking Jesus, Mary, Joseph & the shepherds & lambs. On the other side of the self I have a hodge podge of other angels again with the ones in the back on pedestals, so you can see the ones below in the front row. On the third self more of the same. On the 4th shelf the Cherubims. On the bottom shelf nothing yet. When the new Angels come out, I will certainly have to do some other arrangements. I am in the "process" of crosstitching some beautiful Angels to frame and put on my wall with some of the sculpted plates & faro plates. I'm almost done with the first Angel. Eventually my whole living room will be all Angel decor. I do rearrange my angels regularly! I walk through my living room every night to gaze at their beauty. I really would like to find a way to get more "creative" maybe with some ivy and maybe some miniature white Christmas lights somehow. I'm afraid to display the Angels anywhere except my curios. Only the 4" ones are out in the open (they don't seem to be as fragile). Contributed by Jean: We have a grandfather clock with the glass curios on the sides. I had first wanted the 12" angels to go in it. I had 5 of them and decided I would use the pedestals with 7" angels in the other 3 spots in the clock. However, when I got them in there, the 7" ones looked perfect and the larger ones seemed too large. Trial and error! Anyway, 8 of my 7" angels are in the grandfather clock and look really beautiful. The 12" angels have now found their home on our mantel over the fireplace in the great room, interspersed with several of the smaller ones. To the sides of the fireplace, there are recessed glass shelves which hold the remainder of our collection. There is one shelf with the 4" angels and 2 shelves on each side hold the medium sized ones. The Nativity Set has not yet found a home. We are looking at a curio cabinet. I think most of the pieces belong in a curio cabinet if for no other reason than safety. Although, even when we get the curio cabinet, I plan to have some of my beautiful angels strategically placed throughout the house to remind me of the goodness in the world. We have two of the photo frames and ONLY put pictures of my husband's mother in them. She is as close to being an angel on earth as I know. We move those around constantly as she is always on our minds and in our hearts. She is 89 years old and we are so fortunate to have our own very special angel still with us and doing well. Contributed by Paulette: All of mine go in the curio. I wish I could set some of them out. Maybe around Christmas time and only on the mantel. I think if I set them out some of them would get broken and that would just break my heart, so all of mine are in a curio. Contributed by Mary Jane: I have my 12" Angels on the outside edges in my curio. Of course Alyssa has the place of honor. I then sat everybody out on the sofa and put them in catagories. As my collection is only about 27 this was an easy task. It is a matter of favorites as to what shelf they went on with my favorites higher at eye level. That was a tough choice so I just clean and rearrange often. I use the pedastals to stagger the heights too. I have thought about using poly batting to cover the shelves, give them a cloud-like effect- but was afraid it would be too much. Might try it though for the holidays. A friend gave me a wonderful wooden cabinet with a glass door to hang on the wall or sit on a table and I have all of my ornaments in that. I am hoping for a bigger cabinet for Christmas.....I have been a very good girl! Contributed by Bob: I'm sort of new so I really don't have a definite scheme to display my angels yet. I have purchased a Curio Cabinet that they all wind up in sooner or later, but when I first purchase a new angel she is displayed on my lighted mantel for awhile and then finds her way to the cabinet. I'm still trying to decide on placement in the cabinet, I can't decide whether to divide the angels by group, limited edition, closed, or just keep arranging them the way I think that they look the best. Contributed by Judy: I cleaned out my China cabinet and I display them there - mine is large and lighted so it works. I am hoping to get a corner curio display cabinet soon because my cabinet is full - so I will have 2 places. I like to keep mine in a cabinet with glass doors to keep them cleaner. They are beautiful and I would like to have them in a cabinet w/glass all the way around & lights, but I'm afraid of them fading too much - from what I hear that can happen.
